Vineyard notes: "Crimson is our selection of parcels from younger Pinot Noir vines from our various vineyards on the Martinborough Terrace. In their youth, vines tend to be more fruit expressive, gaining more complexity around 15-20 years."
Produced from vines 5 to 25 years old with a small amount of whole bunch fruit included. Maturation took place in French oak barrels for 10 months. Deep dark red core with black shaded edges and a dark red hue. Lifted spicy dark cherry aromas are married to wild strawberry, anise and earthy cedar like notes. Light to medium weight the palate has a generous fruit profile of ripe dark cherries and plum over anise, forest floor and spicy cedar characters. Polished tannins concluding medium to long with a savoury aftertaste.
