Spectacular density of colour displaying an impenetrable pitch black core with an equally deep dark red black hue. Pronounced liquorice, cassis and black plum aromas are overlaid by prominent vanillin oak, wood smoke, fennel and pepper. Thick, rich and powerful with liqueur like concentration the palate features flavours of liquorice, blackberries and black cherries which meld into smoky vanillin oak, spicy fennel and pepper. A high octane finish imparts some heat which maybe above some tasters level of tolerance. Sturdy yet largely concealed tannins provide structure. Long blackberry, liquorice, black cherry, vanillin oak, fennel and spicy pepper aftertaste.
"The ancient soil profile of this block adds a mineral aspect to the wine to complement dark cherries, red currants and mocha. The liquorice intensity melds with white chocolate dusted with roasted coffee to build the foundations to support the cranberry acid line.
