Description
Launched with the 1990 vintage the Bin 407 reflects Penfolds' aim to produce a premium Cabernet that is at once more affordable and more widely available than the Bin 707. This has been made possible as more premium Cabernet vineyards have come into bearing. The resulting style of wine has proven to be quite different from Bin 707. Bin 407 shows more varietal characters of blackcurrant, mint, leafy overtones and subtle oak.
COLOUR: Medium deep red.
NOSE: Intense cassis, chocolate, mint, brambly aromas.
PALATE The palate is dense and chocolaty with blackcurrant, leafy flavours, abundant, looseknit, chalky tannins and underlying oak. Finishes long and sweet.
