Aromatic and perfumed, blueberry and black cherry fruits. Nutmeg and warm spice notes woven in for good measure.

Fresh, bright and vibrant blue fruits balanced against a framework of fine tannins and energetic acidity.

VINIFICATION
Fruit was hand sorted and destemmed. Whole berries went into an open fermenter with about 10% whole bunches on top. A long, slow ferment coupled with gentle extraction built structure to frame Barbera’s generous fruit profile before basket pressing to seasoned 500L puncheons to rest throughout the winter. In spring the wine was racked and blended in a concrete vat before bottling in late November.
VINTAGE NOTES
Blessed with an ideal growing season, with La Nina weather patterns producing cool conditions and high rainfall in winter and early spring. The vines were healthy, budburst even with mild conditions through flowering. Harvest was slightly later than normal but this allowed for great flavou development in the grapes.
