About This Whisky

Scapa 16 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is an unpeated Island single malt matured entirely in American oak casks. After nearly a decade away, this age-statement expression has returned, showcasing Scapa’s fruit-forward spirit style shaped by long fermentations and coastal maturation on Orkney.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Vibrant amber.

Nose: Juicy mango, vanilla cream, leather and hints of clementine peel.

Palate: Silky and creamy with apple pie, vanilla fudge and baked pineapple, leading into mulled spices and bright tropical notes on the finish.

About the Distillery

Scapa Distillery is located on the shores of Scapa Flow near Kirkwall on Orkney’s Mainland. Founded in 1885, it is one of Scotland’s smaller and more hands-on distilleries, known for long fermentations and the use of a Lomond-style wash still, contributing to a characteristically juicy and oily spirit.

Maturation takes place in American oak casks aged on Orkney, lending soft vanilla sweetness and balancing the distillery’s fresh, fruit-driven character.
