Pewsey Vale’s 1961 Block Riesling is a special Eden Valley bottling from the estate’s oldest vines. The fruit is handpicked, wild fermented and briefly aged on lees, producing a Riesling that combines aromatic purity with a distinctly textured, mineral line.
The wine shows lemon myrtle and tea-tree blossom, then lime, lemon curd, orange rind and crushed-quartz minerality. It is taut and intensely fresh when young, yet made to reward extended cellaring. Serve chilled with kingfish sashimi, chilli-lime seafood, Vietnamese herbs, spring rolls or goat’s cheese.
