About This Wine
MÁLÀ Sparkling is crafted to complement the interactive excitement of hot pot and the vibrant spice of Sichuan cuisine. It is designed as a sparkling Prosecco that pairs with bold flavours and spice.
The name references Sichuan’s signature flavour: 麻 (MÁ) meaning numb and 辣 (LÀ) meaning spicy, inspired by the sensation of Sichuan peppercorns.
Tasting Notes
Aromas of white flowers, pears and white peaches. A very approachable and gentle expression on the palate. Wonderfully refreshing with balanced flavours of pure orchard fruits and a mineral undertone.

About the Producer
Established in 2010, The Flying Winemaker operates as a modern-era négociant, building on grower relationships formed during Eddie McDougall’s time at O'Leary Walker (Clare Valley), Giant Steps (Yarra Valley), Clyde Park (Geelong), Vietti (Barolo) and Wood Park (King Valley).
Based in Macau, Eddie is a wine judge and advocate for Australian wine across Asia. In 2019, Lilian Carter joined as Australia’s winemaker on the ground, contributing technical expertise and attention to detail across the winemaking program.
