If you’ve not tasted JD at barrel strength before, expect a full-throated, unadulterated expression of everything that makes Jack Daniel’s, well, Jack Daniel’s: a deep, dark whiskey jam-packed with Jack’s trademark vanilla, toasted oak and dark cherry flavours, overlaid with light spice and a moreish sweetness.

Nose: Vanilla pancakes with bacon, cherries and maple syrup. Lemon and barbecued corn, apple crumble and a hint of polished wood.

Palate: Bold and rich, with bright orange zest, pineapple, toffee apple, cookie dough and roast almonds, before a finish of charred oak and sticky date pudding.
