The 2025 Clonakilla Sauvignon Blanc Semillon is a vibrant and elegant cool-climate white blend from the Canberra District, crafted in a restrained and textural style by Clonakilla. Combining the aromatic lift of Sauvignon Blanc with the texture and structure of Semillon, this wine reflects Clonakilla’s focus on balance, purity, and regional expression
Fruit is sourced from estate vineyards in the Canberra District, where warm days and cool nights provide ideal conditions for preserving freshness and aromatic precision. The 2025 vintage delivered fruit with excellent natural acidity and flavour clarity, resulting in a wine that is lively, layered, and highly drinkable.
In the winery, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon parcels were handled separately, with cool fermentation used to preserve aromatic detail and freshness. A portion of the blend saw lees contact to build texture and subtle complexity without overt richness.
The wine opens with lifted aromas of lime zest, grapefruit, passionfruit, and white peach, layered with hints of fresh herbs, citrus blossom, and subtle mineral notes. The palate is crisp yet textural, balancing bright citrus and tropical fruit with fine acidity and a long, refreshing finish.
Fresh and approachable in its youth, the 2025 Clonakilla Sauvignon Blanc Semillon is ideal as an aperitif or paired with seafood, salads, and light summer dishes. While designed for early enjoyment, the Semillon component provides additional texture and short-term ageing potential.
