The 2024 Terra Sancta Mysterious Diggings Pinot Noir captures the vibrant spirit of Bannockburn in Central Otago, New Zealand. Crafted from vineyards on Felton Road, this wine reflects the cool climate and ancient soils that make the region one of the world’s most distinctive sources of Pinot Noir.
Vineyard and Winemaking
Grown on schist and loam soils at the foot of Mount Pisa, the vines experience warm days and cool nights, allowing the fruit to ripen slowly while preserving fresh acidity. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in small open-top vessels, with gentle plunging to extract colour and flavour. Maturation in French oak barriques, mostly seasoned, enhances texture while maintaining purity.
Tasting Notes
Aromas of red cherry, raspberry, and wild strawberry mingle with subtle notes of spice and dried herbs. The palate is bright and supple, offering layers of red fruit, fine tannins, and fresh mineral acidity.
