About This Wine
Produced from two blocks off the Coal River Valley vineyard, this Syrah is hand-harvested and fermented in stainless steel open-top fermenters. A portion of 100% stems was fermented separately and later included to provide textural depth and aromatic lift.
The must was pumped over up to two times per day during peak fermentation with occasional punch-downs. After 14 days on skins, the wine was drained and pressed before being transferred to oak for maturation. The final blend was assembled and bottled in early January 2026.
About the Producer
Located in Tamar Valley, Tasmania at 41 degrees South and 50 metres above sea level, the vineyard was established in 1998. This certified organic vineyard comprises predominantly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with smaller plantings of Riesling and Pinot Gris. The resulting cool climate wines have naturally higher acidity, with a focus on the expression of fruit and texture.
