The Midleton Very Rare 2024 Vintage Release continues a legacy spanning more than forty years.
Each edition of Midleton Very Rare is carefully selected and blended by the Master Distiller to highlight the finest single pot still and grain whiskeys in the Midleton inventory.
This 2024 release marks the 40th anniversary of the original Midleton Very Rare, maintaining the collection’s reputation for elegance, complexity, and exceptional balance.
Bottled at 40% ABV, it remains the pinnacle of Irish whiskey craftsmanship.
About the Distillery
Produced at the Midleton Distillery in County Cork, Ireland, this renowned facility is home to some of the most iconic Irish whiskey brands.
Midleton continues to lead in traditional Irish whiskey-making under Pernod Ricard ownership, with Master Distiller Kevin O’Gorman overseeing the blending and selection of each annual vintage release.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Vanilla, floral and herbal tones, followed by orchard fruit notes of ripe apple and sweet pear. Pot still spice with cinnamon, clove, and freshly cut hay, accented by toffee and heather honey.
Palate: Silky texture with tropical fruit flavours of peach and nectarine balanced with crème brûlée, toffee apple, and chocolate-dipped honeycomb. Subtle floral grain and pot still spice harmonize with charred oak.
Finish: Long and refined, with lingering fruit and gentle oak influence.
