Patrick Piuze, a Canadian-born winemaker who founded his namesake maison in 2008, has become one of Chablis’ most respected modern artisans. His philosophy is centred on expressing the distinct terroirs of Chablis through minimal intervention and precision. Each cuvée reflects a single vineyard or climat, crafted with a Burgundian attention to detail and purity of fruit.
Vineyard
Les Roncières is a distinguished Premier Cru site located on the left bank of the Serein River, adjacent to the renowned Montmains and Butteaux vineyards. The east-southeast exposure and Kimmeridgian limestone soils produce Chardonnay of tension, minerality, and lifted citrus aromatics. Yields are kept low, and fermentation takes place in stainless steel and old oak barrels to preserve clarity and texture.
Vintage
The 2023 vintage in Chablis delivered excellent balance after a mild growing season with steady ripening and healthy yields. Cooler nights retained vibrant acidity, resulting in wines that combine Chablis’ signature minerality with added generosity and aromatic lift.
