Velvet Glove sits at the pinnacle of Mollydooker’s red wine range, built around exceptionally concentrated Shiraz from a single McLaren Vale vineyard. The 2022 combines immense fruit intensity with supple tannins and a velvety texture, while retaining the balance and freshness that define the wine’s style.

Vineyard

The fruit for the 2022 Velvet Glove was grown entirely on the Gateway Vineyard in McLaren Vale, South Australia.

Winemaking

The wine was barrel fermented and matured entirely in American oak, using 100% new barrels. Mollydooker’s Marquis Fruit Weight™ measures the proportion of the palate filled by rich, velvety fruit. Velvet Glove requires a Fruit Weight of at least 95%, and the 2022 achieved 95%.
