The 2022 Majella The Musician is a vibrant and finely balanced blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, showcasing the classic Coonawarra style of elegance and depth. Crafted from estate-grown fruit on Majella’s famed terra rossa soils, this wine combines approachability with the structure and flavour intensity that define the region’s best reds.
Vineyard and Winemaking
Fruit was sourced from mature Majella vineyards on Coonawarra’s red limestone soils, renowned for producing wines of balance and longevity. The two varieties were fermented separately in small stainless steel fermenters to preserve fruit integrity, then matured in a combination of French and American oak before blending. The result is a seamless expression of Cabernet’s structure and Shiraz’s plush fruit.
Tasting Notes
Bright crimson in colour, with aromas of blackcurrant, plum, and violet layered with hints of spice and soft oak. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth, delivering juicy red and black fruits, subtle chocolate, and fine-grained tannins. The finish is long and elegant, supported by balanced acidity and gentle oak influence.
