Produced by Majella Wines, this flagship wine showcases the purity, structure, and elegance that have established Coonawarra as Australia's premier Cabernet Sauvignon region.
Sourced from estate-owned vineyards planted on Coonawarra's famous Terra Rossa soils over limestone, the wine benefits from a unique combination of soil, climate, and viticultural expertise. The cool growing season of 2022 allowed for slow, even ripening, preserving aromatic intensity and natural acidity while achieving excellent flavour development.
Majella has built a reputation for producing Cabernet Sauvignon that combines immediate appeal with long-term cellaring potential. Careful vineyard management, low yields, and selective harvesting ensure fruit of exceptional quality. Following fermentation, the wine was matured in French oak barrels to enhance complexity and structure while maintaining varietal purity.
The bouquet displays classic Coonawarra aromas of blackcurrant, cassis, blackberry, and dark plum, layered with notes of cedar, mint, tobacco leaf, dark chocolate, and subtle spice. The palate is medium- to full-bodied and beautifully balanced, showing concentrated dark fruit flavours, fine-grained tannins, and vibrant acidity. Elegant oak integration and a lingering finish provide both sophistication and ageing potential.
