About This Wine
Saint-Aubin Premier Cru Murgers des Dents de Chien is sourced from a vineyard in the southern part of Saint-Aubin at the limit of the Puligny-Montrachet appellation, very close to Grand Cru Montrachet.
The vineyard comprises five south-facing parcels at an average elevation of 340 metres. The highly calcareous soil contains exposed rock formations resembling dog teeth, which give the vineyard its name.
The Chardonnay vines were planted between 1946 and 1997 across a total surface area of 1.12 hectares.
After precise monitoring of ripeness, the grapes are hand-harvested and brought to the winery in small crates. The grapes are lightly crushed before pressing, and the must ferments in oak barrels.
The wine is aged for 12 months on fine lees in oak barrels, with 20% new barrels each year, before a further maturation of around 6 months in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats.
This cuvée produces around 7,000 bottles annually.
Producer Notes
Saint-Aubin Premier Cru Murgers des Dents de Chien has a scintillating appearance with glints of green. It always develops very mineral notes from deep within its terroir. The palate expresses itself firstly in finesse then increases in intensity. The finish is rich and eloquent.
About the Producer
At Domaine Larue, all grapes are harvested entirely by hand. Each wine receives customised treatment according to the appellation, the phenolic quality of the grapes and the weather conditions of the vintage.
