“Medium to deep colour with a purple core and hue. The nose combines mild oak and toast with some flinty hints, raspberry, plum, cassis, pepper, cardamom and some meaty notes. The palate is dense and meaty with a modest extraction, rounded tannin, flavour intense with pure fruit and a long generous finish.”

“Complex roasted nose with deep red fruit aromas. A polished Hermitage that is quite accessible for an appellation with the reputation for needing long aging. Fleshy and elegant, with restrained tannins on the medium-bodied palate. Then, just when you think it is a bit easy-going, the structured stony finish comes through to remind you who’s boss. Mostly from the bottom of the Les Bessards section of the hill. Matured 100% in Burgundian oak barrels, of which a quarter were new, for 15 months. Drinkable now, but best from 2025.”

About This Wine
This cuvée is a blend of grapes from three terroirs: L’Ermite, Le Sabot and the prestigious Bessards terroir. Average production is approximately 30,000 bottles (75 cl) per year. Grape variety: 100% Syrah.
The grapes for the “Domaine des Tourettes” cuvée are harvested by hand, plot by plot, at optimal ripeness. Vinification is carried out traditionally in open concrete vats after two days of cold pre-fermentation maceration. Fermentation continues at a controlled temperature of 28°C to 30°C, with daily punching down and pumping over for about ten days. Total maceration time can reach 20 days. After racking and pressing, malolactic fermentation takes place in oak barrels.
The wines are aged in oak barrels. The oak character results from a precise and variable proportion between new barrels and barrels that have previously held wine, adapted to each vintage’s tannic and gustatory profile.
Tasting Notes
Visually, the wine is a deep, brilliant, dark red. On the nose, the Hermitage “Domaine des Tourettes” expresses power and complexity, offering aromas of black fruit, spice and leather. The palate, firm yet silky, possesses a tight tannic structure, the hallmark of the finest wines for aging.
