Dark blue fruits, campari and Italian herbs. Star anise, licorice and bitter chocolate sit in the background. Immediately more powerful, the dark fruited palate is tight and structural. Initially closed, the dark fruits start to flourish amongst the concentrated and complex palate. The tight fine tannins and pure acid line integrate beautifully with the oak, resulting in a wine that shows well now but its best will be revealed after a few years in the cellar.rful finish.

Ashton Hills is a three-hectare, dry-grown vineyard that lies in the Piccadilly Valley sub-region of the Adelaide Hills, on a ridge just below the summit of Mount Lofty. The estate was founded by Stephen George in 1982, and since that time it has built a reputation as one of Australia’s finest proponents of Pinot Noir and cool climate whites.
