“A ripe, fruity expression of marselan full of baked cherries, mulberries and touches of hawthorn fruit jelly and geraniums. Juicy and silky on the palate, with a medium body and round, dusty tannins. Plump, medium-length finish. Very slightly sweet-sour, but pleasant, balanced and easy to understand.”
About This Wine
This single vineyard Marselan is produced by Xige Estate in the Dove Mountain area, located in the heart of the Helan Mountain wine region in Ningxia. The wine is crafted from carefully selected Marselan grapes grown in Xige Estate’s own vineyards.
The wine is aged for 12 months in 300L oak barrels, with a combination of French and American oak.
Tasting Notes
The wine shows high concentration with a smooth and velvety entry, tight and delicate tannins, and aromas of brown sugar, date cake and dried fruits. The palate is rounded and expressive with a long-lasting finish.
About the Winery
Founded in 2017, Xige Estate is a winery located in the Dove Mountain area of the Helan Mountain wine region. The estate owns approximately 2,000 hectares of planted vineyards and focuses on combining modern technology with respect for nature to explore the potential of Ningxia terroir.
