About This Wine
Xige Estate Jade Dove Single Vineyard Cabernet Gernischt is produced in Qingtongxia, within Ningxia’s Eastern Helan Mountains. The vineyard sits at 1000 metres above sea level and is influenced by a dry, sunny continental climate with chilling winds from the Gobi Desert and pronounced diurnal temperature variation, supporting ripeness while preserving acidity.
This single-vineyard wine is made from 100% Cabernet Gernischt (Carménère) sourced from 20-year-old vines. The site is planted on soils of red clay, sand, silt and limestone.
Tasting Notes
Herbal and leathery aromas with intense red dates, sea buckthorn, raspberry, strawberry jam, sage, licorice and violet. Full-bodied, showing briar, bramble, ripe black fruit and oak-derived toast and smoke notes. Fresh acidity meets a solid yet silky tannin structure, leading to a long, savoury finish.
About the Winery
Xige Estate operates under the motto “Chinese Terroir, Chinese Wine” and manages 2,133 hectares of vineyards in Ningxia. Founded by Zhang Yanzhi, the estate is equipped with a modern winery and technical team and is among the largest fine-wine producers in China.
