The 2021 Sami-Odi ‘Our Hill’ Syrah is a rare and highly expressive wine crafted from an exceptional vineyard site in the Barossa Valley. Produced with meticulous care by Fraser McKinley, this wine showcases purity, restraint, and remarkable detail.
Sourced from dry-grown, organically farmed vines in the Flaxman Valley sub-region of Eden Valley, the fruit was hand-harvested and vinified with minimal intervention. Whole-bunch fermentation and maturation in seasoned oak barrels allow the vineyard’s voice to shine.
The nose reveals a lifted and floral bouquet of black cherry, violets, and wild herbs, layered with subtle spice and mineral undertones. The palate is elegant yet structured, with fine-grained tannins, fresh acidity, and a seamless flow of dark berries, licorice, graphite, and savoury complexity.
