About This Wine
The Clos l’Évêque Premier Cru vineyard was planted between 1986 and 2013, covering a total area of 2.0620 hectares. The vines are exposed east to south-east and located across the plateau of Clos l’Évêque, with light, very chalky soils composed of small pebbles that aid water drainage.
Grapes are carefully harvested and sorted by hand. Prior to alcoholic fermentation, a cold pre-fermentation maceration of 4 to 6 days is carried out, followed by full maceration lasting 15 days using only pigeage. Alcoholic fermentation is conducted with natural yeasts.
Tasting Notes
Shiny red colour with ruby reflections. An expressive nose of black fruits such as blackberry and cassis, with touches of spice and pepper. The palate is elegant and straightforward, with refined, fully integrated tannins and a persistent finish carried by fruity freshness of redcurrant.
