The Lovedale vineyard, established in 1946 by the visionary Maurice O’Shea, was planted with the understanding that its unique terroir would produce Semillon of remarkable structure, tightness, and acidity. This foresight has been consistently proven, as the vineyard continues to produce world-class wines that offer both immediate enjoyment and exceptional aging potential.
The 2021 vintage was marked by early, dry conditions, resulting in low to moderate yields. This natural reduction in crop size contributed to a wine of impressive intensity and depth, enhancing the purity of its varietal expression. The wine delivers a striking balance between fresh vibrancy and the complexity that comes with careful aging.
On the nose, intense aromas of citrus and lemongrass are complemented by the distinctive bottle-aged characteristics of lanolin and toast. The palate is equally compelling, with concentrated flavors of lemon and lime supported by a beautifully structured acidity.
