The Reserve Shiraz represents the pinnacle of the estate’s winemaking — a small-batch selection of the finest fruit, crafted only in exceptional vintages. Known for its richness, precision, and longevity, this wine embodies both the opulence and elegance of premium McLaren Vale Shiraz.
Vineyard
The fruit for the Reserve Shiraz is sourced from low-yielding old vines rooted in McLaren Vale’s ancient terra rossa and clay soils. These vineyards, exposed to cooling sea breezes from the Gulf St Vincent, produce grapes of remarkable concentration and aromatic complexity. The wine was matured for 20 months in a selection of fine-grained French and American oak hogsheads, adding texture and depth while preserving regional character.
Vintage
The 2013 vintage was warm and dry, leading to small, intensely flavoured berries of exceptional ripeness. While yields were low, quality was outstanding, producing Shiraz of great density, balance, and ageing potential. This vintage stands among the best of the decade for McLaren Vale.

The 2013 Fox Creek Reserve Shiraz displays a deep purple-black colour. The bouquet bursts with aromas of blackberry, plum, dark chocolate, and espresso, layered with notes of vanilla, cedar, and exotic spice. The palate is rich and full-bodied yet beautifully structured, with dark fruit, mocha, and pepper carried by fine, velvety tannins. The finish is long and complex, revealing both power and finesse — a classic McLaren Vale Shiraz built to age gracefully.
