Producer Notes:
The name of this plot, which translates to “the lovers,” evokes various romantic notions. While no definitive explanation for the vineyard's name exists today, Camille Rodier remarked in 1948, "In Burgundy, a wine with the word 'amour' must be a great aromatic wine, full of passion and vitality." Thus, it stands true.
Vineyard Notes:
Our “parcel” of Amoureuses spans 52.85 ares (approximately 1.3 acres), with the oldest vines being over 60 years old. While the youngest vines were planted in 1966, most were planted between 1954 and 1956. The soil consists of a 30 to 50 cm layer of red clay over a dense limestone slab with minimal fissuring. Despite this, the vines manage to penetrate the rock with remarkable strength. The wine’s complexity reflects the distinctive nature of the soil, perfectly matching the elegant and refined style of this vineyard.
