Produced by Penfolds, Bin 407 is crafted to showcase the varietal purity, structure, and cellar-worthiness of Cabernet Sauvignon in a distinctly Penfolds style.
The outstanding 2010 vintage delivered fruit of exceptional balance, concentration, and tannin quality across South Australia. Bin 407 is a multi-regional blend, drawing from premium Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards including Coonawarra, Barossa Valley, Padthaway, and McLaren Vale. This approach creates a wine of layered complexity, combining regional definition with Penfolds’ hallmark consistency.
In the winery, fruit underwent careful fermentation and maturation in French and American oak barrels, including a proportion of new oak, to enhance structure, texture, and aromatic complexity while maintaining Cabernet definition.
The wine reveals expressive aromas of blackcurrant, cassis, and dark plum, layered with notes of cedar, tobacco leaf, dark chocolate, graphite, and subtle oak spice.
