The 2008 Parker Coonawarra Estate First Growth is a powerful, richly structured Cabernet Sauvignon–dominant blend crafted from one of Coonawarra’s most celebrated vineyards. First Growth represents the pinnacle of the estate’s winemaking — a selection of the finest parcels from the famed Terra Rossa soils, matured in high-quality French oak to create a wine of depth, elegance, and impressive longevity.
The 2008 vintage delivered warm, dry conditions, resulting in small, intensely flavoured berries with exceptional concentration. This First Growth opens with aromas of blackcurrant, cassis, dark plum, cedar, tobacco leaf, and subtle graphite. Layers of dark fruit unfold across a full-bodied palate, supported by firm, finely grained tannins and beautifully integrated oak. Notes of spice, dark chocolate, and earthy complexity build toward a long, refined finish.
Now entering its peak drinking window, the wine shows the harmonious development of mature Coonawarra Cabernet — supple texture, evolving savoury layers, and persistent length. This is a standout First Growth vintage, offering both immediate pleasure and further cellaring potential.
