Welcome to Craft Republic Liquor! Hopefully everyone has returned from the Easter long weekend feeling refreshed. We were excited to post our first blog announcing the imminent arrival of Yarra Yering 2021.
The word on the street is that 2021 is certainly a year for the history books at Yarra Yering as well, with reviews above 96 points across the board and a perfect 100 point score from Tyson Stelzer for the No.1 Dry Red.
Winemaker Sarah Crowe tells us: '2021 showed ideal conditions for cool climate viticulture, ample hang time in the vineyard, the 2021 vintage is a belter across all varieties, we couldn’t ask for much more.'
Yarra Yering's journey of greatness has been further elevated under the guidance of winemaker Sarah Crowe. Recent accolades reflect Crowe's skill and dedication, enhancing the iconic status of Yarra Yering, one of the oldest and most picturesque vineyards in the Yarra Valley. Crowe's approach respects the fruit, resulting in wines that are elegant and vibrant. Huon Hooke describes them as having a beautiful translucent red color, with intense, expressive, and complex aromas, and remarkably intense flavors that are not overpowering.
In 2021, the conditions for cool climate grapes were exceptional. Crowe describes it as a ‘belter across all varieties’, suggesting that it will be celebrated as one of the greats for years to come.
The scores and reviews are glowing, and we believe the eccentric and meticulous founder of Yarra Yering, Dr. Bailey Carrodus, would be immensely proud of these 2021 releases.
